The Inner Child

The Inner Child by Constance Anderson

As children we are connected to the Divine thru our intuition and creativity as well as thru our Spirit and Soul. Our mind and hearts are opened at this phrase of life, normally before the age of 9 or 10. After the age of 9, it is along the way of life that we abandon our inner child or our innocence’s due to learned behaviors, traumas, and the lack of love. We do not abandon or ignore our inner child on purpose but as a result of emotional wounds we may have suffered, this is something that happens more than you can image.

There is literature out there on the inner child as our higher self. Some literature will also describe the inner child as the Ego, the middle mind, the energy of your mind or the subconscious mind.  Our higher self is considered to be our true authentic self. The one that assist with making the right decision and guiding us in the right direction towards completing the life mission we came here to integrate with. Life lessons are also learned thru our higher selves.

Thru these lessons and experience as a child, our higher self is formed. There is always a lesson involved when it comes to connecting to our higher self. The inner child is not separate from you but is connected to you. By allowing your inner child to take an active role in our life mission, you will always experience bliss with no lessons to learn. The inner child only will focus on the joys of life once it has been healed. The above sculpture which depicts two adults angry at each other, but inside each of them is their inner child which stills wants to connect; This is very profound. The inner child of both adults is still trying to keep things moving in the direction of joy and happiness and by reflects that their light will always shine through even when egos are in conflict.

People often ignore their inner child and forgets to listen inward, which is the part of their subconscious mind which knows everything is going to work out; your inner child knows the truth. Your mind will try to protect you from all traumas that took place by blocking those traumas or memories.  Your inner child knows precisely which traumas you experienced were not your fault. What happened to you as a child, you did not deserve it, however we believe from family beliefs, social beliefs or victim mentality (Ego) that anything that happened to you was your fault and you were the actual cause of any traumas that were done to violated you. By forgiving yourself and no longer blaming yourself for past trauma experiences, from the lack of love, abuse that you may have received as a child, your inner child will begin to shine through and direct and guide you to the fulfilled life you should be living, desire to live and deserve to live.

The Mirror Test is a perfect way to connect to your inner child by looking deep into your eyes, which are the window to the Soul. Speak to your inner child, which was present during those traumas, that you are sorry for what happened and promise that it will never happen again. Mention also, that you are sorry for holding any blame or regret for what has occurred.  Also, offer forgiveness for the person that committed the crime against you. Your inner child will begin to radiate and hopefully you will realize that at the time of the offense that you did your best to try to protect yourself, especially in the situation that were beyond your control. Your inner child will never give up on you and is just waiting for you to acknowledge it and the traumas of experiences that occurred. Just know those traumas or experiences were not your fault and most of the time were done to you as a child by an adult who didn’t know any better; just know you did your best with the unforeseen situation that presented itself at the time. Simply by acknowledging these occurrences and thanking your inner child, your inner child will not give up on you and never will. Your inner child is with you forever and present with you for a reason.

Lessons are learned but not always embraced. Your inner child will always try to protect you and deserve gratitude and respect and not judgement of those things that may have happened to you. Traumas, abuse or lack of love which may have occurred as a child have been unfortunate but you inner child will always protect you and wants you to know that you shouldn’t hold on to those things that happened or take blame for things that happened at the hands of an adult that decided to go forward in their decisions to inflict harm on a purely innocent child.

Thru the Mirror Exercise you will experience more joy, love and peace of mind; a better word is well-being. This starts with admitting, receiving and beginning the process of reparenting your inner child. Reparenting is simply going back to that stage in which you were violated as a child and making peace with your inner child. Listen to your inner child when it tells you to act as your higher self and assures you that everything is going to work out and everything is going to be fine.

There are issues which need to be healed before the inner child can assist with directing your life and making life changing decisions. Healing of generational curses will help to open you Heart Chakra and also provide forgiveness in those situations that may have been created thru traumas in your childhood. Once the inner child wound has been healed the inner child can heal and assist you into a blissful life and the opportunity to live thru your inner child. Those that live thru their inner child are happier and enjoy life to the fullness. Your inner child is your highest self and will protect you from going down the path of self-destruction because it always knows the correct path to take to obtain your desires for the future. Your inner child knows you best. Simply allow your inner child to come out and play.

Love and Light,
